Gastrointestinal cancer is cancer that develops along the GI tract. The GI tract starts at the esophagus and ends at the anus . Primary GI cancer starts growing in the GI tract. Gastric cancer with liver metastasis is defined as advanced gastric cancer and remains one of the deadliest diseases with a poor prognosis. Approximately 4–14% of patients with gastric cancers presented with liver metastases at the initial diagnosis. Though the actual cause of stomach cancer is not yet known, there are some factors associated with it, particularly diet and lifestyle. For example, a diet high in smoked or salted foods and processed meat and low in vegetables is a risk factor for stomach cancer, as is drinking alcohol and smoking.
